Current Project:

MCA has been awarded a project by a corporate client to develop and produce a Solar Geyser that would be adequate for the disadvantaged communities in South Africa. The client has a mandate to better it’s Corporate Social Identity (CSI) by financing and supporting Sustainable and Social Development in South Africa and it’s neighbouring countries. MCA Projects have tasked our associates Bee-Hott Water to develop a Solar Geyser that can be applied in the poorest communities where there is no plumbed water as well as to more conventional communities where plumbed water is available.

In the case of a poor community, the geyser will eradicate the need to spend on paraffin and will offer superior health and sanitation that the more privileged communities enjoy.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                             The SA Government have announced the need to implement 1,000,000 (1 Million) solar geysers into Low Cost and RDP housing throughout South Africa by 2014. eTekwini Municipality (Durban) have taken the initiative to undertake a joint venture with Eskom to part finance 100,000 geysers into the greater eTekwini district. However, there is still a huge shortfall of simple and easily manageable solar geysers that can be practically implemented into rural and under privileged areas. Estimates are in the millions.

Our client, a South African Bank, has recognized this as an opportunity to contribute to their Corporate Social Initiative (CSI) and have awarded MCA Home Products a charter to develop and market a solar geyser that can offer sustainable development and employment. MCA Home products installed 10 Bee-Hott Solar Siphon Geysers and are presently monitoring the performance and interest in the geysers. The response so far has been most positive and indications are that we should start up a manufacture of the geysers in kit form so that the communities can assemble, sell and install the geysers, thus also creating sustainable employment. MCA Home Products estimate that the first 10,000 geysers could be installed in the next 12 months. Estimated turnover is R45million and Estimated jobs created, 600.

Possibilities:

We have developed a Solar Siphon Hot Water System that can be applied in the poorest communities where there is no plumbed water or electricity.

This hot water system is easy to assemble and install. It will eradicate the need for rural and less fortunate homes to spend on paraffin, coal or wood. It will offer the superior health and sanitation that more privileged communities already enjoy.

We are offering district municipalities, corporates and investors an opportunity to partner with us in projects that could manufacture, sell and install thousands of hot water systems into these rural areas.

In so doing, the projects could create opportunity for sustainable jobs, skills training and entrepreneurial opportunities for many who are unemployed.

We cordially invite you to contact us to discuss further possibilities. (Gerrard Nel – 083 661 5442)
